A little background information....

Operating from home offices in the historic  market town  of Petersfield, East Hampshire, PBS was originally founded in 2002.

The founder, Theresa Bowie, although born in South London, was educated in Hong Kong.  Having previously been employed at senior level, mostly within the financial sector, for many years she held the position of PA to Chartered Accountants and Financial Directors, acquiring broad experience in bookkeeping, including P&L Accounts, PAYE, VAT and bank reconciliation together with other associated financial procedures.  Alongside an extensive wealth of  general  office  experience, she formally achieved distinction level RSA and Pitman qualifications.

Despite building a strong and reliable team, all assignments are overseen by Theresa, as Principal.

At all times we endeavour to ensure prompt turnaround and accuracy.

PBS     continue to be   members   of   Hampshire  County Council’s  “Buy   with    Confidence”  scheme,  run  by  the Trading   Standards Office.    Eligibility   to  the   scheme involves rigorous assessment to ensure that all members fall within the  remit of  legal and  ethical  trading standards, ensuring the  general  public  receive  a  professional  and   honest service from its members.  Having received official approval from the County  Council helps  us to  help  you  have peace  of mind and faith in  the services we offer you.  It not only promotes our desire to comply fully with the law but also ensures no less than full satisfaction for our clients.

PBS are delighted to count Margaret Coles as one of our associates upon whom we call when we need additional resource or expertise.  As a former BBC journalist, Sunday Times City columnist, news and feature writer on The Daily Telegraph and The Mail on Sunday and magazine editor, Margaret’s wealth of experience and expertise enables us to expand our services to include a wide range of media and editorial services.

Margaret has undertaken consultancy contracts for clients in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. Clients for editorial services have included Surrey County Council and the former Hampshire and Isle of Wight Strategic Health Authority. For the health authority, she was editorial consultant on the Five-Year Strategic Plan, advising on content and putting the document into clearly understandable, jargon-free English.

For Compassion in World Farming, Margaret analysed the media function and wrote an analysis and strategy report for the chief executive. She devised systems and processes and supporting documentation, and trained staff to write press releases and to liaise effectively with the media.  At Campaign for Learning she devised and ran a national media campaign, securing features in several national newspapers, an interview with the chief executive on London Broadcasting and a report on the BBC Ten O’Clock News.

Margaret has also worked with the British Coalition for East Timor and Tapol, the Indonesian human rights campaign. For the BCET, she achieved a national media impact for a virtually unknown issue – namely, the illegal occupation of East Timor.
